Air Filter Maintenance – Escort the Engine’s “Breathing”
The function of the air filter is to filter the air entering the engine, remove dust and impurities, and prevent impurities from entering the cylinder and wearing the engine piston, cylinder wall, and other components. The quality of its maintenance directly affects the engine’s power and fuel consumption. It is recommended to check the air filter every 10,000 kilometers and replace it every 20,000 kilometers. If you often drive in dusty, desert, construction site, or other environments, the inspection and replacement cycle should be shortened. During inspection, the air filter can be taken out. If there is less dust on the surface, it can be gently patted or blown clean from the inside out with compressed air (do not wash with water) and continue to be used. If there is more dust on the surface or it is seriously blocked, it needs to be replaced immediately. In addition, when replacing the air filter, ensure it is installed in place and sealed well to avoid unfiltered air directly entering the engine and causing component wear.
